Appliance SalesIn 2001, CFG removed itself from the merchant functions of the gas industry and strictly began serving as an energy transportation company to its customers. This change in the business model allowed CFG commercial and industrial customers to take part in the Florida Choice Program. In leaving the merchant functions of the business, CFG opened the doors for its commercial and industrial customers to negotiate natural gas rates from a pool of gas marketers. This is a great advantage to non-residential customers due to the fact that they tend to use more gas than residential customers, allowing the customer to have more control over its energy costs. CFG is currently working on a program that will allow residential customers the option to choose their natural gas provider. The program will be available in the near future. In addition, at the same time CFG exited the merchant functions, it removed the service and appliance sales side of the business. However, CFG has spent extensive time and resources on developing a network of service area professionals to assist our customers. This network is known today as the Energy Plus Partners. The Energy Plus Partners do everything from housepiping for gas service to water heater installation, change-outs and service to pool heater installation and service. CFG made sure that every customer's need can be addressed through the Energy Plus Partner network. Each Partner goes through training and certification courses, mainly provided by CFG. Additionally, suppliers and manufacturers have recognized the importance of this network and joined the education process by hosting training services of their own with the Partners for their new products. CFG has trained and certified numerous partners on tankless water heater installation, hydroheat applications, 408 and 601 licensing. It is extremely important to CFG that customers receive the utmost in service for their natural gas lifestyle. |
